New York Yankees: All the news plus two more with the White Sox

New York Yankees, Luis Severino

Thursday night, the long-awaited Field of Dreams game took place in Dyersville, Iowa. The New York Yankees faced the Chicago White Sox in that epic game. I predicted that the Yankees would lose that game because both the pitching and lineup stats comparison said so. What I didn’t predict was that it would be a ninth-inning heartbreaking loss.

Nevertheless, disregarding the outcome, it was a wonderful game in a beautiful iconic setting in the cornfields of Iowa that will not be soon forgotten by any of the players who played in it or those in the stands or watching television. The Yankees still have two more games against the White Sox that will be played on the south side of Chicago.

Preview of two more with the White Sox

The New York Yankees may have lost the Field of Dreams game but still have a chance to take the series from the Chicago White Sox with the remaining two games at Guaranteed Field over the weekend.

Tonight, August 14, 7:10 pm:

Tonight in Chicago, James Taillon will take the mound for the Yankees vs. the White Sox Dylan Cease. Taillon is 7-4 ERA 3.82; Cease is 9-6 ERA 3.99 with an impressing 159 strikeouts.  Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner, and Luke Voit have all hit well off Cease when they faced him earlier in the season. Meanwhile, Cesar Hernandez has Taillon’s number hitting .571 off him in seven at-bats. Tonight’s game will be on the YES Network and NBCSCH.

Sunday, August 15, 2:10 pm:

Sunday will see Nestor Cortes Jr.0-1 ERA 2.40, on the mound for the Yankees, and Lucas Giolito 9-8 ERA 3.81, the White Sox ace for the Sox. Nestor Cortes Jr. has been great for the Yankees, although he has not gotten his first win since taking over for Corey Kluber. The Yankees have won 5 of his 7 starts. Giolito is listed as the Sox ace; he is their third-best pitcher this season. The Sunday matinee will be on WPIX and its affiliates in the New York area and NBCSCH in Chicago. The game will also be televised on TBS out of market.

Andrew Heaney’s job may be in jeopardy

Since acquiring him, Andrew Heaney, who has not pitched well for the New York Yankees, he was the only pitcher available to pitch the Field of Dreams game, and he failed miserably, giving up seven earned runs in the game in only five innings.

With his 5.45 ERA, Heaney had to face the White Sox’s best pitcher, Lance Lynn, with his 2.26 ERA and not having allowed more than three runs in any game in July and August. Heaney gave up five runs in the first four innings, which would usually be the end for a starting pitcher, but manager Boone brought him out again in the fifth inning to save the already overworked bullpen for the rest of the series, he failed to do that.

Heaney has not had a good outing yet for the Yankees, and now his starting job may be in jeopardy. He has given up 15 earned runs and 8 home runs in his three starts for the New York Yankees.

Help is on the way

This may very well be an exciting week for the Yankees. The Yankees will see the return of Anthony Rizzo to the lineup sometime this week. Also, on the good news front, Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery threw bullpen sessions in Chicago yesterday, and Aaron Boone said that all went well. With the Yankees so short on pitchers, it could mean that they will both pitch in the Red Sox series at Yankees Stadium next week.

Luis Severino setback?

The long-awaited return, two years in the making, was just a week or one more rehab game away for Luis Severino, but now that may not happen. He was set to have a rehab game on Friday, but it didn’t take place. Reportedly Scranton Wilkes/Barre manager Doug Davis told reporters on hand that Severino “didn’t feel right” in warmups and was scratched just before the game.

Davis also told reporters he didn’t know the issue with Severino, but it’s disappointing news for the New York Yankees that so badly need pitching help. If there is further information on Severino, you will find it on EmpireSportsMedia.com.

Kluber struggles in the first rehab start

The New York Yankees have been eagerly awaiting the return of Corey Kluber that pitched a no-hitter for the Yankees earlier in the season. On his way back, he pitched for Double-A Somerset on Thursday night. It was Kluber’s first outing since late May. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well; he looked rusty and only made it through 1.1 innings before being removed from the game.

The Yankees right-hander, pitching for Double-A Somerset, threw just 20 strikes on 45 pitches against the Portland Sea Dogs. He walked four and hit an additional two batters on his way to allowing five earned runs. Such a poor start is not that surprising for a pitcher looking to find his command after not pitching in over two months.

Kluber averaged over seven innings per start over his five outings before the May 25 injury and recorded a 1.78 ERA over that span. It now appears he will have another two rehab assignments before an early September return.

Frazier doubled; will he be welcomed back?

Both Clint Frazier and the New York Yankees have been mysteriously quiet about Frazier and his hard-to-explain dizziness and vision problems. But now, out of nowhere, He had a successful game with Tampa and was quickly promoted to Somerset.

First, it was the slugger’s live BP that came as a big surprise. Then, on Tuesday, he took the next step by being announced just one-half hour before the Somerset game; he hit a double in the game and scored once. So now the question is, is he ready to return to the Yankees, and will he be welcomed?

While he has been away from the Yankees, he played his last game on June 30th; the Yankees have tried several outfielders, including Greg Allen, Ryan LaMaree, Trey Amburgey, and Jonathan Davis, among others. They also acquired one of the best outfielders out there in Joey Gallo.

Although not excellent in the outfield, Frazier has been good. However, his hitting has not. Will the Yankees want his dead bat in the lineup as they push for a postseason appearance? The New York Yankees have their outfield options.

New York Yankees: 3 Major takeaways from heartbreaking Field of Dreams loss

Last night the long-awaited Field of Dreams game took place in Dyersville, Iowa. The New York Yankees faced the Chicago White Sox in that epic game. Yesterday I predicted that the Yankees would lose that game because both the pitching and lineup stats comparison said so. What I didn’t predict was that it would be a ninth-inning heartbreaker.

Nevertheless, disregarding the outcome, it was a wonderful game in a beautiful iconic setting in the cornfields of Iowa that will not be soon forgotten by any of the players who played in it or those in the stands or watching television.

Andrew Heaney hung out to dry

Since acquiring him, Andrew Heaney, who has not pitched well for the New York Yankees, was the only pitcher available to pitch last night’s game. In addition, both Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery are on the Covid list, and Domingo German is nursing a sore shoulder. Add to that Corey Kluber and Luis Severino are not yet ready to return to the rotation.

With his 5.45 ERA, Heaney had to face the White Sox’s best pitcher, Lance Lynn, with his 2.26 ERA and not having allowed more than three runs in any game in July and August. Heaney gave up five runs in the first four innings, which would usually be the end for a starting pitcher, but manager Boone brought him out again in the fifth inning to save the already overworked bullpen for the rest of the series; he gave up another two earned runs.

Ninth inning heartbreaking loss

After Andrew Heaney gave up seven runs in the game and the Yankees average of fewer than four runs per game, it looked pretty dismal for the Yankees. They carried a three-run deficit into the ninth inning. But in the ninth, Tyler Wade, who has been playing great ball, led off by hitting the first pitch for a single. LeMahieu struck out. Gardner struck out. Aaron Judge, with one out, left for the Yankees and one on, hit his second home run of the game, bringing the Yankees within one. Joey Gallo walked. Giancarlo Stanton homered for his 18th of the year, and just like that the New York Yankees took the lead.

At the bottom of the ninth, Zack Britton was charged with holding the White Sox down and winning for the Yankees. Danny Mendick led off and ground out to second. Zavala walked. Anderson hit a homer crushing the Yankees for a walk-off loss. It was a tear-jerking loss for the Yankees.

It must be mentioned that the Yankees did have opportunities in the game to blow it open but failed to do so. The Yankees were 1 for 7 with men in scoring position and only got 8 hits in the game. Gardner in the game went 2 for 5 with a home run. Judge went 2 for 4 with two homers, Stanton 1 for 5 with a home run, and Wade went 2 for 4. Both Voit and Gallo were hitless in the game.

Joey Gallo continues to struggle as a Yankee

Before the trade deadline, the Yankees acquired the power-hitting Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers. But after two weeks, Gallo has failed to make his mark as a Yankee.

“I’m still, like, kind of getting used to it. You know, sometimes I’ll see like a sign that says ‘Yankees.’ Oh Yankees, I’m on the Yankees. You spend so much time with one organization that you kind of forget sometimes, but it’s just crazy. It’s crazy when people say I’m a part of the New York Yankees. And when they’re doing the lineup, I’m in the same lineup with Aaron Judge, DJ LeMahieu, and Giancarlo Stanton, all those guys, it’s like, you know, it’s crazy. It’s like a dream.”

So far, with the New York Yankees, Joey Gallo is hitting .140 in fourteen games with one home run, and 23 strikeouts in his nightmare start with the Yankees. In the Field of Dreams game, he went 0-3 with two walks.

New York Yankees Recap: Field of Dreams game ends with Yankee crushing loss in the ninth

New York Yankees, Aaron Judge

Tonight one of the most iconic baseball games of the last decades was played in the cornfields of Iowa. The New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox played a game 30 years in the making in Dyersville, Iowa, on the movie site of the original Field of Dreams. It was a dream come true for a woman named Denise Stillman, who fought for years to get this game played on her land. New York Yankees: The “Field of Dreams” becomes a reality tonight (video)

yankees

Tonight the New York Yankees will play in one of the most long-awaited baseball games of the season or, for that matter, any season. It’s not an exhibition game; it’s not a playoff game, although it might have the feel of such; it will likely be watched by as many baseball fans of any team as game seven of a World Series.

Tonight on the FOX Network at 7 pm EDT, the “Field of Dreams” game will be played in the farmlands of Dyersville, Iowa, between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox. It will be the first major league baseball game ever to be played in the state of Iowa.

The game was inspired by the 1989 movie Field of Dreams starring Kevin Costner. When Iowa farmer Ray (Costner) hears a mysterious voice one night in his cornfield saying, “If you build it, he will come,” he decides to act on it. Many thought Ray was crazy, but nevertheless, he eeks out a baseball diamond in the middle of his cornfields supported by his wife, Annie. It wasn’t long that the ghosts of great players began emerging from the cornfields to play ball, notably “Shoeless” Joe Jackson.

The movie is much more complicated than it seems as Ray finds out it is much more than bringing baseball greats out to play. It’s as much about his relationship with his father and a reconciliation.

In 2012 the land that holds the original Field of Dreams diamond was sold to Denise Stillman. From the day she bought the land, she pushed MLB to have a major league baseball game on her land. In 2016 she married her husband Tom Mietzel; together, they formed Go the Distance. Denise worked for years to cajole MLB to build the park. In the meantime, she developed liver cancer. In 2019 Mietzel finally signed a deal with MLB to build the park. The White Sox and Yankees game was originally to take place in 2020, but the coronavirus prevented that. Unfortunately, Denise died in 2018 before she could see her dream come true.

Tonight, when this iconic game begins in the stands, will be 8,000 adoring baseball fans that will include Mietzel, Stillman’s two children, Keven Costner, and other actors from the film. For the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox, it’s a real game that counts toward their standings. The Yankees are 6 games out in the AL East; the White Sox comfortably leads the AL Central.

“If you build it, he will come” comes true tonight, it took 30 years, but it is now a reality.

“When you think about it, what’s so impressive about it, one woman’s vision and one woman’s courage, and now Major League Baseball is playing its first game in Iowa,” Mietzel said. “I think what’s going on today is a huge legacy to her, to her skills, and to her love, and to her willingness to keep working, even knowing that she would not live to see what was eventually going to come to pass.”

Tonight’s 7 pm game was originally scheduled to have Yankee ace Gerrit Cole on the mound for the Yankees, but the Covid virus has prevented that. Tonight Yankee pitcher Andrew Heaney 7-8 ERA 5.45, will take the mound facing the former Yankee (2018) and White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn 10-3 ERA 2.04.

New York Yankees 8/8: 3 Major takeaways from another Yankee win

andrew heaney, yankees

The New York Yankees entered last night’s game with a split of the series with the Seattle Mariners and hoping to take the series with a win. In his first game, Andrew Heaney, who had a rough start for the Yankees, faced Chris Flexen. The Yankees got that win their fifth in a row and now hope to sweep the Mariners today. The final score was New York 5, Seattle 4.

Andrew Heaney rebounds for the win

After a disastrous first start of the Yankees last week, Andrew Heaney opened last night’s game against the Seattle Mariners; it looked like Deja Vu all over again. First, he allowed a double to the first hitter he faced. Then, Kyle Seager got a two-run homer to the right-field porch just beyond Stanton’s reach, and just like that, the Yankees were behind 2 runs. Heaney used 40 pitches just in the second inning.

In the second inning, Heaney gave up another two runs. But then Heaney pulled it together. At the top of the third, Seager ground out to first. Murphy went down on strikes. Then, Fraley struck out for Heaney’s first 1-2-3 inning as a Yankee. After that, Heaney was sharp. At the end of the second inning, no one would have thought he would go more than four innings, but he did. He saved the Yankee bullpen and completed six full innings using 108 pitches; meanwhile, the Yankees went ahead in the game, and Heaney earned his first Yankee win.

After the game manager, Aaron Boone called Heaney the player of the game

Bullpen holds as Yankee win fifth

Using nine pitchers the night before, the Yankees needed Heaney to go deep into the game, and he did. Then, in the seventh inning on Saturday, Clay Holmes, when the Yankees were in dire straits, proved why they went after him from the Pirates before the trade deadline.

The seventh inning was led off by Moore facing new pitcher Clay Holmes and struck out. Toro went dowl looking. Haniger also struck out as Holmes struck out the side all looking. For the Yankees and Holmes is was his second perfect outing. Joey Rodriguez finished up a scoreless eighth inning. Then with no rest for four days, Jonathan Loaisiga came in, closing it out for the Yankees in the ninth.

The Yankees creep up in the standings

For the past month, the New York Yankees have been the winningest team in baseball. Last night was a total team effort to get their fifth win in a row and creep up in the standings, albeit without a few major players, the Yankees have found a way to get it done. Last night Aaron Judge homered. Rougie Odor logged a 2 run smash to the short porch. Kyle Higashioka got his first pinch-hit double that ended up being the winning run, while DJ LeMahieu diverted attention to him in a run down.

After a lethargic first half of the season, when even the most earnest Yankee fan thought it was pretty much over the team they loved. Aaron Boone and company kept saying that the Yankees would perform like the championship team they were supposed to be; few believed that.

But early in July, everything seemed to change. The Yankees began winning series. They’ve won 20 of 28 games over the last month, starting with a badly needed victory over the New York Mets. As the trade deadline approached, the Yankees became the most successful team picking up the pieces they needed to complete their team. They picked up three pitchers, contact lefty Anthony Rizzo and lefty powerhouse Joey Gallo. They now have a balanced lineup that can win games.

During the last 28 games, the New York Yankees have gone from 41-41 to 61-49. The Yankees are now just 5.5 games out of first place in the AL East, led by the Tampa Bay Rays. They are 2.5 behind the Boston Red Sox. In addition, they are 1.5 games out from the second wild card slot behind the Oakland Athletics. With 52 games left in the season, the Yankees are looking to win the East division possibly.

New York Yankees: Takeaways from new look same ole Yankees loss to the Orioles

What going on with the New York Yankees? The Yankees themselves spoiled what was to be a triumphant return to Yankee Stadium. The Yankees have taken another step backward after the exciting debut of new players and a sweep of the Miami Marlins. After an exuberant start by Anthony Rizzo in Miami, it seems that he, too, has caught the Yankee flu. That has nothing to do with Covid; it’s a flu that the Yankees haven’t been able to shake all season, not being able to hit a baseball even against a lousy team with a subpar pitcher.

Andrew Heaney flopped and flopped big time

After last night the new New York Yankee pitcher Andrew Heaney is saddled with the worst debut of a Yankee pitcher in the franchise’s history. It’s the first time a Yankee pitcher gave up four home runs in a debut start. Heaney was horrible.

Heaney took to the mound for the first time as New York Yankee facing Cedrick Mancini, who flew out to left. Austin Hays popped out to LeMahieu. Trey Mancini flew out to end a perfect half for Heaney. At the second, Ryan Mountcastle led off by doubling down the left-field line. Anthony Santander struck out. Ramon Urias flew out to Stanton playing right field for the first time this year. Pedro Severino tapped back to Heaney for the final out. So far, so good.

Then came the third inning when Heaney turned into Dr. Jeckle, and Mister Hyde wrapped up in pinstripes. Mullins homered to center for the Orioles lead. Austin Hays hit a back-to-back homer this one to left field. The fourth inning was led off by Mountcastle, who got the third Oriole home run. Urias hit another home run, and just like that, Heaney had forgotten how to pitch. With the Yankee’s lack of hitting, Yankee fans saw the all too familiar behind four runs in the fourth, blown out early in a game. The Yankees lost 7-1.

Yankees still can’t consistently hit the leather

Yesterday the Yankees faced a Baltimore Orioles pitcher that was sub-par to be polite. Jorge Lopez had an ERA of 6.19. The Orioles had lost 14 of his starts. With a right-left, right-left power-hitting lineup, the Yankees couldn’t get a single hit off Lopez until the fifth inning. After that, it would be the only hit the Yankees would get off of Lopez. It’s not that they didn’t have their opportunities; they did; he walked five Yankees hitters as the Yankees went 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position.

What has dogged the Yankees all season is their inability to hit the ball in the air. Instead, they continually hit ground balls into the infield and hit into double plays. As a result, they have hit into more double plays than any other team. If there was a Yankee star yesterday, Joey Gallo made some amazing defensive plays and hit a double in the sixth inning.

With all the opportunities the most exciting moment of the game was a cat running across the field that a battery of ground crew and security took several minutes to shoo off the field.

Yankees now have a big pitching problem

To add an even bigger downer to the Yankee’s loss, the Yankees announced that pitching ace Gerrit Cole has tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, he will miss his start today and at laest another one or two starts. In the best-case scenario, he will have two negative tests and miss only two starts assuming he has been vaccinated; if not, he could miss three starts or more if the virus hits him hard.

Add to that that Domingo German has been put of the 10 day IL with shoulder inflammation. With those two pitchers out for at least two starts, the Yankees have a big pitching problem. They have at least four slots to fill and no one to fill them. Their best chance to win a game is with Nestor Cortes Jr. on the mound today, replacing Cole; beyond that, they are in an uncharted area. Micheal King is on the IL, Deivi Garcia is pitching horribly with an ERA over 7 at Scranton. Clarke Schmidt, Luis Severino, and Corey Kluber won’t return to the team before August 20th. This means that the Yankees will probably have to use Heaney again, Holmes, and likely have to piece together at least a game or two from the bullpen.

New York Yankees Recap: Home runs lead the Orioles to win over the Yankees

The New York Yankees are coming off a sweep of the Miami Marlins, and tonight at Yankee Stadium will look to win game one from the Baltimore Orioles to accomplish another sweep. The Yankees are in 3rd place in the AL East, 7 games behind The Tampa Bay Rays. The Baltimore Orioles sit at the bottom of the East 26 games back but have played well recently, winning six of their last 10 games. At the top of the sixth, the Baltimore Orioles tacked on another two runs. At the bottom, Joey Gallo doubled. Stanton struck out. Odor popped out to short center. Sanchez popped out to the shallow right as the Yankees leave another runner stranded. So far, the Yankees could only get 2 hits off of the mediocre pitcher. Orioles 6 Yankees 1.

Mullins led off the seventh against new Yankee pitcher Lucas Luetge and flew out to Gardner in center. Hays ground out. Mancini struck out for a 1-2-3 inning for Luetge. At the bottom of the inning, Torres singled. Gardner walked. LeMahieu banged into a 6-4-3 double as he has so many times this season. Rizzo against the new Baltimore pitcher Paul Fry stuck out for the final out of the inning. Orioles 6 Yankees 1.

In the eighth inning, Mountcastle, against another Yankee pitcher, Albert Abreu, got a base hit down the left-field line for his third hit of the night. Santander singled with Mountcastle going to third base. McKenna was brought in to pinch run. Urias hit into a double play, but Mountcastle scored. Severino stuck out, but the O’s continued to tack another run. At the bottom, the inning was delayed for some time while a cat was on the field. He finally left the game in a ground-rule exit. Judge flew out to center. Gallo popped out to short. Stanton walked. Odor flew out to the centerfield wall. Orioles 6 Yankees 1 Feline 1.

Franco led off the ninth ahead by five runs, and he doubled when a fan interfered with the ball in left. An Abreu pitch hit Valaika. Mullins went down on strikes. Hays hit into a double play to end the hitting for the O’s. At the bottom, with last licks on the line for the Yankees, Gary Sanchez took to the plate and against Dillon Tate ground out to third. Gleyber Torres flew out to center. Brett Gardner, who walked three times on the night, singled. Gardner took second on indifference. DJ LeMahieu lined out to right to end the game.

The final score was the Baltimore Orioles 7 and the New York Yankees 1. The winning pitcher was Jose Lopez, and the loser was Andrew Heaney.

Note: Gerrit Cole that was supposed to start tomorrow’s game has tested positive for the Covid virus according to Aaron Boone. He will miss at least two starts. Gio Urshela is also going on the IL not Covid related, but with a hamstring injury.

New York Yankees: Back at the Stadium, preview of the Baltimore Oriole series

The New York Yankees are coming off a successful road trip, winning 6 of the 10 games. The Yankees won one of four against the Red Sox, two of three against the Tampa Bay Rays, and a 3 game sweep of the Miami Marlins. The Yankees being 7 games back in the AL East and fighting for a wild card slot; every game can be an important step forward in that goal. The Yankees must win over the teams that they should beat. The Baltimore series that starts today is one of the series. The Yankees will hope to sweep the series at the Stadium in the Bronx.

For the first time at home, Yankee fans will get to see the new Yankee look, with the addition of Anthony Rizzo, Joey Gallo in the lineup, and 3 new pitchers, including Andrew Heaney, who will start tonight’s first game. Tonight will be an exciting game for Yankees fans that had almost lost faith in their team; now, the Yankees look hopeful that they can pull out the season.

Tonight, August 2, 7:05 pm:

Tonight the New York Yankees fans will get to see their new starter, Andrew Heaney; he is a lefty that is 6-7 with an ERA of 5.27 and a very respectable 113 strikeouts. Heaney comes to us from the Los Angeles Angels, where he has made 102 starts since 2015 going 30-33 over the span. Heaney has been better than his traditional numbers might suggest. His K%-BB% is ninth in the AL among 43 pitchers who’ve logged a minimum of 90 innings (just ahead of Lance Lynn, Nathan Eovaldi, and Berríos). The Yankees hope at the very least he can be a back-of-the-rotation starter for them and can make spot starts when needed.

Heaney will face the Baltimore Orioles’ Jorge Lopez, a righty that is 2-12 with an ERA of 6.19 and 90 strikeouts. The Orioles have won his last three starts even though he is coming off his worst game of the season. In his Miami Marlin start, he went only two innings giving up five earned runs. Several Yankee players have hit well off of Lopez, including Brett Gardner and DJ LeMahieu, but Aaron Judge has Lopez’s number. In 3 at-bats, Judge has hit two home runs.

Tuesday, August 3, 7:05 pm:

Tuesday night’s game will feature Yankee ace Gerrit Cole on the mound at Yankee Stadium. Cole is 10-6 with an ERA of 3.11 and an incredible league-leading 176 strikeouts. However, he is coming off two disappointing losses. One against the Red Sox and the last against the Tampa Bay Rays when he gave up 7 earned runs in just five innings, throwing 105 pitches and struggle mightily. The Yankee hope he will bounce back and get a win over the Orioles.

Cole will face the Orioles Alexander Wells, a lefty that is 1-1 with an ERA of 5.28 and 12 strikeouts in four games pitched. Wells is coming off two straight losses, one to the Tampa Bay Rays and, more recently, one to the Detroit Tigers. In those two games, he gave up seven earned runs. He also walks hitters more than the league average. However, he will have some advantage over the Yankees hitters, as they have never seen him pitch.

Wednesday, August 4, 7:05 pm:

Jameson Taillon will start Wednesday night’s game at the Stadium. He is 7-4 with an ERA of 4.11 with 98 strikeouts. Taillon is quickly becoming the Yankee’s best pitcher. After a slow start to the season after not pitching for nearly two years due to two Tommy John surgeries, Taillon is gaining the confidence of manager Aaron Boone. The Yankees have won six of his last seven starts. He is coming off a 3-1 win over the Miami Marlins when he threw 98 pitches, not allowing a run.

Taillon will face the Orioles’ Matt Harvey that the Yankees hitters are very familiar with. Harvey has made the rounds pitching for the Mets, the Reds, the Angels, the Royals, and now the Orioles.  He has not been what the Orioles’ hoped for; he is 6-10 with an elevated 6.20 ERA. However, his last three games are among his best of the season, going into the sixth inning in all three games with the Orioles winning all three. Gio Urshela and DJ LeMahieu have both hit well off Harvey, but strangely Anthony Rizzo has faced him twelve times only with a .083 batting average.

All three Baltimore Oriole games will be broadcast on the YES Network and in Baltimore on MASN. The Tuesday night game will also be on MLBN out of market.
